I am a mum so I guess this is yet another mummy blog, but it is also more than that.
Being a parent in the 21st century involves so much more than being ‘just a mum’. As I am a mum (and likely to stay that way) I am writing from the female perspective but this is not to discredit all the wonderful dads and transgender parents who are also juggling life!
Whether you are a stay at home parent or working, have one child or six (or more!) are married, in a relationship (same sex or straight) or single there are so many demands on our time. Personally, I feel like I am constantly spinning plates and I am sure that I am not alone in this. I wear many ‘hats’; sometimes I take one hat off before I switch to another and other times I feel like I am wearing all of my hats at once.
I am married to a wonderful man who I have known for 20 years and has been my significant other for 10 years and my husband for 6. I live in the UK. I was born in the Northwest and moved to the Southwest 7 years ago. I work part time and I am a mum to a 4 year old and 1 year old. I am also a StepMum to 4 children, who range in age from 9 to 18.
I am NOT a parenting expert, I am just a modern mum so, this is my blog about what that means to me. I plan to share with you some of my juggling acts, some of the fun I get up to with the kids, life with my husband and managing home and work. The thoughts, opinions and views expressed are entirely my own and are not meant to be at all judgmental of other peoples parenting choices.
