Bluestone Resort: Our Free Range Family Adventure

We booked our trip to Bluestone early in 2017 having heard from some friends about it’s existence and about how good it is for families. ¬†They have returned to Bluestone with their son for the last 3 years and after hearing of their recommendation we decided to book a break in October 2017 which happily coincided with their next stay.

Part of the reason we wanted to go in October was to tie it in with my husbands and my birthdays at the start of October and with Z having another year before starting school we thought we would take advantage of an out of school holiday break.

At the time of booking we didn’t know I would be 34 weeks pregnant when we stayed at the resort.

Should we be more like our toddlers?

I have a 2 year old son who is strong willed, high energy, tenacious and loud. He never walks anywhere but prefers to run everywhere instead. He hates to be restrained and he makes A LOT of noise! He is exhausting!

To many people he is a ‘naughty child.’ He doesn’t listen, he rarely does as he’s asked and he laughs when I raise my voice.

Top Ten FREE Things To Do with Toddlers

Entertaining an energetic toddler with a short attention span can be quite testing at times so it is useful to have a few ‘failsafes’ in your pocket for when your little one needs entertaining and you’re low on ideas. ¬†Sometimes it’s not possible to get outside, although I am a great believer in ‘there’s no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes’ or money is tight which limits the options available.
I’ve included my top ten for things to do in these circumstances, they may not suit everyone but they work really well for us.
